ENGINEER

Luc has his roots as an electronics and computer sciences engineer from the Catholic University of Leuven (KULeuven 1977-1984).

He learned to know and understand the IT industry as well as corporate culture while developping his career at the Siemens Data Division and later Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems in Belgium from 1985 on. He started as a Unix systems engineer and helped to build out the SINIX line of Siemens' Unix systems into a number one market position in the small and medium systems market.

In 1990 Siemens Data merged with Nixdorf Computer Systems to become SNI, worldwide about 50,000 employees. In Belgium this resulted in a new corporate structure, where focus shifted from product management to IT service delivery. Luc became group leader and consultant in the Professional Services division.

In 1992, he volunteered for the function of Quality Manager in the Professional Services division (about 150 staff by that time) and worked at implementing the nucleus of a total quality management system, with a focus on project management, tender management and professional communication structures.
